Bone is such a phenomenal writer, really drawing the reader into the story, with deep point of view narration and intense emotion. This is the perfect conclusion to The Regent's Revenge trilogy! Of course, it's a romance, so all turns out well in the end; and it includes pirates, my type of story!

What a great story, it was everything I expected from one of Katherine Bone 's books. I could not put the book down. Even though this is a stand alone book, I recommend to read the other two books in the series. You will not be disappointed. Congratulations Lady Katherine, you have another great book. Love it, hope there will be a story for James.
This is a compelling story from beginning to end. One that I found difficult to put Dow . From there hardworking and beautiful Oriana to the handsome and troubled Pierce. This wasA page Turner from the very beginning
Great writing--a lot of history along with romance and excitement. You keep reading, waiting for the final ending and then it is a surprise conclusion.

Since the Roost holds all of Carnage’s treasure and the only things that he deems meaningful for a pirate such as himself, she knows that it will only be a matter of time before he comes knocking. Will she be able to defend herself when he does or will all of her attempts at happiness be a failure?Bone has a powerful, yet beautifully written story. The characters are wonderful, and the pace is steady and enjoyable. Emotions run high in this story, allowing the reader to really dive into the scenes alongside the characters. With this being the third installment in the Regent’s Revenge series, it still remains a novel which can be read as a standalone. Some of the characters do cross over from previous installments and it is recommended to read them in chronological order for the full understanding of the series. Let me start off by saying that although this is book #32 in the, you do not have to have read the first two books in order to understand and enjoy this one. The author manages to give a new reader the condensed backstory without giving away too much, or making it too tedious for those who have already ready the others.As someone who has read the other stories, I can honestly say that this was a fantastic addition to this series! I loved Oriana as a "secondary" character in the last book, so to see her get her own book nearly felt like a personal triumph for me. She is such a strong willed, and independent character who has overcome so much personal tragedy that I longed to see how she ended up - and Ms. Bone did NOT disappoint!I loved the chemistry between Oriana and Pierce, even when he was masquerading as a simple fisherman. It was apparent from the start that neither of these characters were quick to trust anyone (and with good reason), so to see them navigate the walls the other had erected around their heart was nothing short of an engaging feat.There was also just enough threat of danger hanging over their heads to keep things from becoming stagnant, in fact as a reader, I was kept on edge just as much as they were wondering when and where Captain Carnage would strike. And without giving away spoilers, can I just say that final showdown definitely did NOT disappoint!Overall, I believe this novel will appeal to those who enjoy a story that is well written as well as engaging.
