I thought this idea book was thought provoking and had good information on insuring the final product looked professional! Overall, helpful and very nicely done.

Package arrived. Seemed fine but when I took out the book it looks like it was in a box that someone used a box cutter to open because there was a small gash about 4” last BG on the cover. Plus a few black sticky smudges. But the book itself is full of great ideas. Didn’t have time to request a new one being it was for a gift needed by tomorrow.

Bought this for my sister-in-law for Christmas and then ended up buying myself a copy too. So many great ideas to try!

I was expecting plans and how-to. This was mostly photos.

I really like books that show you how to take things you don't like any more then work on them and they look new again,that's my hob.y

Very inspiring. Most furniture today is made of MDF and particle board so a better bet is to buy "ugly" used solid wood furniture and beautify creatively with paint. It's amazing how a mundane or dated piece can look so beautiful after a fresh do over. Recently I bought a 1980's wood frame couch and 2 chairs and had the cushions reupholstered. We sanded the wood and put a white stain on it and then did the couch is a soft yellow corduroy and the chairs in a beachy white and navy stripe and plenty of nice pillows. I read this book to my daughter when she was a toddler. It became the book she always asked me to read to her at nap time. We both enjoyed its humor and problem-solving for tykes. The message to appreciate what you have was communicated easily to little minds in this story. Our copy was lost in a house fire and we talked about how we missed the book from time to time as her children grew up. This Christmas I was able to find a copy and gave it to her as a gift. She was so surprised and happy with this reminder of some pleasant times we shared when she was small enough to climb on my lap. Her youngest child is 4 years old and perfect for this book, although much younger and much older children will also enjoy the story.

A classic. Bought this about 10-15 years ago.It's all tore up and dog eared. Great message...everything is relative. Beautiful way with words and interesting story structure. Great addition to any child's/teachers library!

What a funny, silly picture book! I've read this to K-2 classes and they get the point: We complain until we see life could be worse. And that is the lesson the "wise man" of the village teaches "old man" Peter. But HOW he "trickily" teaches this is the fun of the story.I am amazed at the cummulative memory the youngest have in accompanying me in the repetitious words and sounds. They have fun. I bought this book for my mother. It was her favorite book as a child. She still has the copy she owned when she was little. Her copy's cover was missing and the pages were brown with age (signs of a well loved children's book). The story is so cute with a simple message; appreciate what you have. The illustrations are simple but descriptive and the expressions on the character's faces are spot on. My children (7 & 4) love this book as well. They enjoy all the animal sounds and like to look for all the animals as Peter's room fills up. This book has been a part of our family's library for 3 generations now and will continue to be a staple of our children's reading for years to come.

My children loved this book and 30 plus years later my grandsons love it. I was so happy to find it. I do wish is was in hardcover.

I was a substitute librarian, and was thrust into a storytime. The librarian handed me this boook and said it was a great ice breaker. I read it to the class, and it's true! This book practically tells itself - and the kids loved making the animals sounds with me. Well, I decided I was having so much fun, I shifted gears and became a children's librarian, and used this book a LOT! Not only fun with the various animals, but good vocabulary (hissed, swished, etc.) and the children really do get to know new words and also know instinctively what they mean. I cannot praise it highly enough - bought it for both my nephews!

We had this book in soft cover when our four children were little but finding it again, I can say for certain that the most fun you've ever had is easily found when reading this to grandchildren."swooosh!"Buy it in the hardback and save for the future to keep the giggles coming from little people for many years. But shhhhush! For Peter still thinks there's Too Much Noise.

I teach 2 yr olds and they love this book! I have also had older children come over and they also love it, good for up to 8 yrs old.

This in depth guide to ayahuasca is a remarkable and much needed addition to the existing literature and accounts on ayahuasca currently available. This second edition also adds a beautiful and important two chapters on sustaining awareness of safety and responsible medicine use - which completes an already seemingly complete guidebook on ayahuasca usage!I have probably read all or almost all of the books available on the topic of ayahuasca over the past 7 years. While there have been a few excellent books, most of them are focused on adventures of seekers, personal accounts and experiential reports, with a couple of books focused on the study of the Amazonian world view. This is not a bad thing, but I have been waiting for something more and this book provides it. It brings a much needed depth for the serious seeker, looking to approach ayahuasca ceremonies for deep healing. It is a guide on all things ayahuasca related, but its strength lies in its focus on the suggested mental, spiritual and emotional preparation and approach to working with this extraordinary sacrament.The book is quite personal in places, offering what he found to be the most helpful for his own unfolding and inner work. If someone, born and raised in western society, is going to approach this medicine for deep healing of wounds and the malaise of common western thought patterns, some of the popular approaches to ayahuasca and shamanism in general can at times be slightly limiting, in my opinion. Regueiro’s work adds a fresh outlook, building upon indigenous wisdom by utilizing sometimes Jungian and non-dual approaches in dealing with our fractures and wounds. In my own inner work, I have found these approaches incredibly beneficial and wholesome, so this book really resonates with me. This does not mean that this book discards all conventional wisdom as built up through the ages in the amazon, but rather adds to it in a very meaningful way, and re-frames many of the methods and myths surrounding the use of it to be rather approachable. There is also an explicit invitation to use one’s own discernment and intuition regarding what is “right” for the individual, which I find highly appealing as it avoids an authoritarian view.In a nutshell, this is the one of the only books I would recommend someone read before embarking on their first ayahuasca ceremony, and in my opinion, it is a book that everyone currently working with sacred plants should consider reading for a review of what their current work is bringing them. Very important work and much needed at this juncture in time!

I bought the audio book version which is somewhat unpleasant to listen to due to bass tones of the narrator’s voice, which my excellent speakers don’t reproduce very well, creating a painful low boom. I got used to it now, and listen to this book without enthusiasm just to finish it.The book is written in the kind of generalized new agey language that uses a lot of general ideas like “responsibility”, “facing your fears”, “trust yourself” etc, and has few concrete details. This book doesn’t provide a lot of important details and information to someone who wants to try ayahuasca for the first time. The lack of concrete descriptions and details makes me question the author, his authority on the subject and experience with it. He could be just any guy from a Spanish speaking country who is somewhat familiar with ayahuasca, but far from being an expert. He also doesn’t strike me as someone who benefited a lot from this “healing plant medicine”. Again, this is judging by his generalized insights and lack of originality in his thinking and ideas.

I had the pleasure of meeting Javier Regueiro last year in a Manhattan bookstore where he signed my copy of his book and then delivered the most fascinating and mesmerizing lecture/discussion I have ever witnessed by an author. He was so clear and so present and non-judgmental and good-humored.His book is beautifully written and highly informative. Unfortunately (and this seems almost petty to bring up) there are several spelling, grammatical and typographical errors, none of which, happily, detract from the otherwise excellent writing.By the way, the cover art by Harry Chavez cannot help but catch your eye, as will the photograph on the back of the author beaming a radiant and welcoming smile.

I loved this personal, honest, down-to-earth account of the spiritual benefits, and trappings, of ayahuasca medicine work. Javier is honest, forthright and helpful in this book. I highly recommend adding this to your ayahuasca reading list if you're exploring this plant and working with it. Also look for his book on San Pedro/Huachuma if you're working or going to be working with that Andean plant master.

This book is deeply insightful on so many levels. It's rich with transformational, liberating ideas that really rocked my inner world. He lays the foundation for truly meeting the plant medicine of Ayahausca with your eyes and heart open, well prepared and able to receive the most possible from the experience. Beyond the medicine, Javier is a brilliant teacher who has permanently affected how I view the world and myself in it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! And his other book too :) I have both with lots of pencil underlines and notes in the margin :)

Stuart Hall was born and raised in Jamaica and arrived in Britain on a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford in 1950. Aleida March is the director of the Che Guevara Studies Center, Cuba. From a humble family background, she joined the Cuban revolutionary underground movement as a young teacher in Santa Clara, central Cuba. She met Che during the revolutionary war and they married in June 1959. She now lives with their four children and numerous grandchildren in Havana.

I have read almost everything about Ernesto Che Guevara that has been written or translated into English and this memoir contains everything that the other biographies, memoirs, and etc. lack, i.e. reflections of his personal relationships with his family, and especially with his wife and children. Even the memoir written by his first wife lacked the warm details and personal anecdotes contained within this beautiful, honest, and heroic, though conflicted, soul. There is a lot that can be learned about a person through the study of their relationships with others, and this work definitely answers many questions, and completes the vision that I have of this remarkable man. I suggest this book as a companion to Lee's and Taibo's biographies and should be considered essential reading for anyone who either loves Che or hates him. What Che's image seems to lack is the human factor that brings him back down to earth, that keeps him separate from the myth created around his image, and Aleida's words show us, whether we like him or not, that we can both admire him and constructively criticize him, his decisions, and his actions in the context of historical truth,something that the myth that surrounds him has stolen from those who loved, and those who continue to love, this amazingly selfless man. Aleida's main goal seems to be to show us how to keep those we admire within our understanding of our flawed human race. Whether you like him or not, you have to respect his iron will and his selfless dedication to the cause. He was, and always has been, a flawed human being; this is something easy to forget about Che, but essential in understanding his true, and amazing nature. Whether you like him or not, you can find something within this mad to look up to. Thank you, Aleida, for giving us what we have been waiting for since 1956, a remarkable picture of a remarkable man. I truly enjoyed this book.

Outside of the pics, this was the worst memoir ever! There were no juicy details and really no new detail about Che outside of the personal letters that she shared that mind you, she refused to share with Jon Lee Anderson for his biography of Che and said “they are too intimate...people can read them when I die”....guess Jon wasn’t paying enough for her to divulge because last I checked she is still alive. I also don’t like how she talked bad about Hilda...but I guess when you’re a racist and have to be persuaded into thinking highly of people who are not white skinned by your revolutionary husband, then you would make such statements like she did (according to Anderson). She also gave her book a name similar to Hildas which to me still shows her nasty jealous side that people talk about. But in a nutshell...buy it used if you must and don’t expect a lot of details because there aren’t any. Her and her children complain so much about how they don’t like Che being used as a symbol to make money but then reading this all I can say is she did the same exact thing, use Che and the idea of Che to make money

I have read many books on Che and enjoyed all my readings. But this book is the best of them all. It shows the reader the husband, the father, the friend and the intellectual that Che was. If you are interested in the Che that was a human being this is the book that MUST be read.

This is an excellent book. The narrative of Aleida about Ernesto Che Guevara is very sentimental. It is sad many people do not understand his ideals in life. His passion for his ideals made him sacrifice himself in his search to reach equality societies in Latin America.

I unexpectedly read this book in one sitting the afternoon I got it from Amazon. It reads like a glittering romantic novel depicting a daring 21-year-old heroine meeting her dynamic 30-year-old lover in 1958 when they were both revolutionary guerrilla fighters against the Cuban dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista. When Aleida's riveting narrative needs further explanation, very helpful footnotes at the bottom of the page define the historical significances. Once they met, they fought together and loved together, even in jeeps and, once, in a captured Batista tank. The 100 photographs are priceless, such as the one Che took of the rifle-toting Aleida standing in front of the huge troop-train that the rebels had famously derailed as a key prelude to the decisive Battle of Santa Clara. The rebel lovers got married right after the triumph of the revolution in 1959 and had four beautiful children together. The proven historical accuracy and unique insight of this book reveal aspects of the Cuban Revolution that too often never see the light of day in the Western world. Aleida March, born in Cuba in 1937 and still a determined and proud Cuban on the island, graciously shares invaluable insight on one of history's most famous men, Che Guevara, and one of history's most important events, the Cuban Revolution.

I rated this five stars because I really enjoyed the book. There was much history of Che and also showed the loving family side of him. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Cuban and South American history and also learn more of the personal side of Che.
