On the Lookout begins a new series by Christy Barritt taking place in Lantern Beach. This time around, Cassidy is the police chief and the hunt for justice again. From the first chapter, I am interested in the idea of Gilead Cove and trying to figure out the connection to the dead body that came ashore. Stories with cults in them are fascinating because I have a hard time understanding why people believe their obvious lies, but I know Satan is working wonders. Anyways the cult idea is different for Barritt, but not original in the book realm. The suspense moved pretty rapidly and kept my focused. There isn't much romance in this novel, but I did see Cassidy and Ty who are now married, working as a married couple. Overall, On the Lookout is a unique first book in the series, and I really can't wait to read the rest.
There is never a dull moment in Cassidy Chamber's life as she takes care of Lantern Beach, as she solves crimes as Chief of Police, as she interacts with the love of her life, Ty and faces issues back with her parents! You'll have to start here though with Lantern Beach P.D. but then to discover her beginnings go to Lantern Beach and watch her defeat the head of a gang and causes them to shut down. Ultimately leading her to this point as Chief of Police at Lantern Beach!

This is another suspenseful series that takes place in Lantern Beach from Christy Barritt! When a cult-like group buys property and moves in, Cassidy begins to worry. The people living in what’s called Gilead’s Cove gave up all their possessions and families, walking with their eyes downcast and following too many rules in order to live there. All but their leader, Gilead, who’s very charismatic to everyone he meets. When a body washes up, Cassidy and Ty become concerned with the strange marks on the man. As Cassidy tries to get information from the group, she has to deal with her mother’s requests for her to come home and take over her father’s business. I loved this first book of Christy’s new series and look forward to the next book!
Another great,fast paced novel by CB, but you left us hanging a bit, girl, so hurry up and finish this series! PLEASE!! We are all anxiously waiting for the next ones. LOVE LOVE LOVE Cassidy and Ty!!
Terrible as always, never brings closure to stories, leaving the story hanging just to sell more books. When an author has to do this repeatedly to sell books shows lack of confidence or just greed. I will try again in three years to see if this continues. This book closes Barritt from our reading book group. Enjoy your trip to the bank.
Chief Cassidy is settling into her new role as wife and Chief of the Lantern Beach PD, when a murder happens. This one murder unwraps a bigger threat with the realization that a religious cult has formed in her beach community. Trying to figure out if there is a tie to her and her hubby, Ty’s past, is putting her back in danger. Mystery lovers and Barritt fans will love this small community. I love seeing her and Ty’s relationship grow. I love revisiting old friends from Lantern Beach. I’m also dying to read what happens next!
Christy Barritt delights again with Cassidy who is a REAL detective as opposed to some of her other heroines who just get caught up in mysteries. The new police dog's first arrest had me laughing out loud.I really enjoy this format of a series of short novels with an overarching plot - much better than a long one published once a year!
