Finally, I have a simple and fast reference that allows me to use this great program. Even with other books including Kelby books, I always felt hesitant to use the program as it always seemed that something happened that I didn't understand or I was frustrated trying to do something and couldn't quickly and easily find the answer. Now I can.
I have a lot of Scott Kelby's books. Really like his style. This book is very helpful. I keep a copy of it next to my computer at all times. Highly recommend anything written by this author. He really knows his stuff and is able to share that knowledge in a way that is easy for most people to understand.
Where has this book been? I have been using Photoshop since version 2.0, up through the current CC edition. Photoshop is a tool -- a mean to an end for me -- a way to produce the best results I can get from My Nikon D4 and D800 bodies. When I am trying to improve a photo image, I don't want to have to read dozens of pages in a lengthy chapter, or search endlessly for ways of achieving something. If I could, I'd want to pick up my phone and call Scott Kelby and ask him, "Scott, how do I...?" And suddenly I don't even have to use the phone, and I even have pictures to help me! Does this book answer ALL the possible questions about Photoshop. Probably not. But it has been useful already in the short few days it has been unwrapped and laying next to my desk top PC.
These books didn’t go on an on, but got to the point and so were inspiring to go try them out in Photoshop. Liked.
Scott's done a service to Photoshop users that he earlier did for Lightroom users. I teach a high school digital design class and us the book all the time to refer students who want to do 'some thing extra' to photos in their work.
Discovering this book has increased my understanding of, and abilities with Elements almost instantly. If I want to do something I have never done before in Elements, I find the page in this book and follow it. It makes Photoshop seem easy.
This book is as advertised. There are pages and pages of how-to and short cuts for PS users. it is NOT a sit-and-read book; rather, there are 150+ issues or problems with solutions. it is readable and useful.
Can always trust Scott to delver a good book. When Lightroom is not doing the job you go to Photoshop. But how did I do that last time?
